What is Revenue Share?
Revenue share is a compensation model where Fathom agents earn a portion of Fathom's commission income generated by other Fathom agents they have recruited to the company. Revenue share allows an agent to earn additional commission from their direct recruits, LEVEL 1, as well as commissions from the sales of agents those recruits bring to Fathom, LEVELS 2 thru 5.

Revenue Share 101
Revenue share is a compensation model where Fathom agents earn a portion of Fathom's commission income generated by other Fathom agents they have recruited to the company. Revenue share allows an agent to earn additional commission from their direct recruits (Level 1) as well as commissions from the sales of agents those recruits bring to Fathom (Level 2 thru Level 5). The system is designed to reward agents for contributing to the broader success and expansion of Fathom’s agent network.
By providing a leading flat fee model alongside a highly rewarding revenue share model, we aim to cater to the diverse preferences and needs of agents across the nation. Fathom recognizes that agents are seeking multiple income streams and that revenue sharing is a popular feature among the fastest-growing brokerages in the world. By integrating a revenue share component, Fathom aims to provide more flexible and lucrative options for agents, aligning with industry trends and agent preferences for diversified income opportunities.
The requirement to be a producing agent applies to both the sponsoring agent as well as the sponsored agent. However, once a sponsoring agent recruits 12 agents in Level 1, they no longer need to be a producing agent but must maintain active status with Fathom and pay their annual fees to continue receiving revenue share.
Yes, for a sponsored agent's commission to qualify for revenue share, they must meet the criteria of a producing agent as outlined in Fathom's policies and procedures manual. Specifically, your sponsored agent must generate a minimum of one sale under Fathom within the last six months. This requirement ensures that revenue share is awarded based on active and financially contributing agents within the network, supporting the overall sustainability of Fathom.
For agents who are new to Fathom, there is a six-month grace period during which their first sale is eligible for revenue share, even if they do not have another sale in the previous six months. This grace period helps agents who are new to Fathom get established and allows their sponsor to start benefiting from the revenue share program more quickly.
Revenue share is available from commissions earned before a sponsored agent reaches their cap. The amount available for revenue share depends on which plan the sponsoring and sponsored agents are on.
FATHOM’S SHARE PLAN: For sponsoring agents who belong to Fathom’s Share plan, the percentages of revenue share received from their sponsors are as follows, regardless of the plan their sponsored agent joins:
Revenue share for Fathom’s Share plan
Level 1: 35% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 2: 25% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 3: 20% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 4: 15% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 5: 5% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
FATHOM’S MAX PLAN: For sponsoring agents who belong to Fathom’s Max plan, the percentages of revenue share received from their sponsors are as follows, regardless of the plan their sponsored agent joins:
Revenue share for Fathom’s Max plan
Level 1: 10% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 2: 10% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 3: 10% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 4: 10% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Level 5: 10% of adjusted pre-Cap revenue
Levels 1 and 2 are automatically unlocked without any requirements to have a minimum number of agents in your Level 1. To access revenue from Levels 3 thru 5, a sponsoring agent must meet specific recruitment thresholds. Here’s how it works:
Level 1: Automatically unlocked.
Level 2: Automatically unlocked.
Level 3: Recruit a total of 4 agents to unlock this level.
Level 4: Recruit a total of 8 agents to unlock this level.
Level 5: Recruit a total of 12 agents to unlock this level.
After an agent has joined Fathom and selected their initial plan, an agent is then permitted to change their commission plan once per anniversary year. This technically allows an agent to change plans twice in their first year. This policy allows for no exceptions, ensuring that agents carefully consider their plan choice and its implications for their business strategy throughout the year.
Changing your commission plan will impact your revenue share differently depending on which plans you are moving between. When an agent changes plans, the new plan’s rules apply immediately to any future revenue generated by sponsored agents, but do not retroactively change the earnings from previously accrued revenue share under the old plan.
Always consider reviewing the specifics of each plan or speaking directly with a Fathom representative to understand the full implications of any plan change on your revenue share earnings. This will help ensure you are fully informed about the potential impacts on your revenue share before deciding to switch plans.
No, when you recruit a team leader to Fathom, only the team leader is placed in your first level. Any agents who are part of that team will be placed into your second level. Those team members will be placed in the team leader’s first level.
No, team members are required to be on the same commission plan as their team leader.
These scenarios can affect your revenue share in several ways:
- From Max to Share Plan: If your sponsored agent moves from the Max plan to the Share plan, this will increase the commission amount received from revenue share. The percentages do not change, but the commission split to Fathom is higher.
- From Share to Max Plan: Conversely, if the agent moves from the Share plan to the Max plan, this will decrease the commission amount received from revenue share. The percentages do not change, but the flat fee paid to Fathom is lower.
- Status Change to Producing Agent: If a non-producing agent becomes a producing agent by meeting the necessary thresholds, this change will activate the revenue share you can earn from their activities.
- Status Change to Non-Producing Agent: If an agent becomes non-producing, this will suspend the revenue share you receive from that agent's activities until they regain producing status.
It's helpful to monitor any changes in the plans or status of your sponsored agents as these can directly impact your revenue share calculations and payouts. Helping your downline be the best agents they can be will not only help them, but it will also help you.
New agents to the industry, regardless of their chosen plan, are initially part of Fathom’s mentor program which includes a $465 flat transaction fee and a 30% commission split for the mentor program. Transactions from agents on the mentor program do not qualify for revenue share until the agent graduates the mentor program.
After completing three sales under this mentorship arrangement, a new agent's commission split adjusts according to their selected agent plan. This structured approach ensures that new agents receive adequate support while also contributing to the revenue share system once they graduate the mentor program.
